My dress was the most GORGEOUS dress I ever saw. It made me do the bride thing, you know, cry when you put it on!

I got engaged on July 5, 2011 and knew I needed to find my dress that month. Although I am born and raised in Hawaii, I am one of those crazy people who went to college on the mainland, got a job and stayed on the mainland. California to be exact. But I didn't want to look for dresses on the mainland. I wanted everything to be in Hawaii as the wedding got close, none of this worry about where things were, shipping items. I needed no extra stress.

I won tickets for the July bridal expo on the radio and noticed the Princess Brides exhibit right away when I walked in. It was huge, clean, and had beautiful dresses on display. I tried a few on but nothing was really perfect. The sweet girl helping me said that she knew the exact dress I was looking for, but it was in the store, not at the expo. I made an appointment then and there for the next week with fingers crossed I would find "THE dress" since I was leaving to go back to California a few days later.

For the next year I would look at the picture I took and smile at how beautiful the dress and how I couldn't wait until it was altered just for me!
That's where the story gets funny (not at the moment, but it's funny now) my first fitting went great. The second fitting, not so much! One week before the wedding with three bridesmaids in town to learn how to corset and bustle I went to try on the dress. IT DIDN'T FIT!! Not only did it not fit. It wouldn't even go on. Not stepping into it, not going over my head...NOTHING. The alterations weren't done correctly. As I tried to laugh it off my mom started pacing, my bridesmaids were trying to make me feel better, and cool and collective Irene was on the phone. We asked Irene if this sort of thing happens often, she said no, but maybe one in a million. That's me...one in a million :)

Before I knew it the dress was gone and back in the hands of the woman who does the alterations. She knew what she had done wrong and assured me that the dress would be back in the store by tomorrow at noon...and be perfect. It was! And it was perfect! Fit as if it had been cut and made just for me!

The face on my groom as I walked down the aisle and he saw me for the first time solidified the idea I had that it was the most gorgeous dress ever. I loved my experience at Princess Brides even with the slight hiccup. Irene and all her girls are amazing.

I hope all is well. Here are the photos from our wedding day. As you can see Me and my bridesmaids look very happy with what we are wearing. When I got the first gowns that I have made in the Philippines, I just had to replace them, get it redone. I am so glad Princess brides came into my mind, it was the right place and the perfect dress!! I loved my dress! I have received a lot of compliments from our guests. Even my bridesmaids are very happy with theirs. I can't thank you enough for all the help and suggestions you've given me.. You and your staff are more than accomodating. You helped me made the dresses 1 less to worry about for the wedding..

Your store is truly amazing.. Now I know how it feels to be a "Princess bride"...

We just got our CD with photos. It was a beautiful and perfect day, I felt like a princess and loved my dress and my husband looked so great in his perfect fitting tux! I continue to share with friends and family the story of how we just happened to be killing time and found the perfect dress, chosen by your expert husband! I would have never thought of renting but it was the most sensible and feasible thing to do to look like a million dollars without spending a fortune.

Including a couple photos, hope this works. If it doesn't, please let me know. I will print and drop off a couple when things settle down. Thank you again for helping to make our special day a memorable one!!

Oh yes, Im sooo glad I tried to call to get your email and then you emailed. Here are some of the pics.  They are alright; we are thinking of doing them again soon for fun cause I love my dress, and we said we are going “To do it” again for fun. You see we did a few costume changes, where I was able to take off the lace part and use it as a whole new dress for after; then I sun fire for my guest in a off white padeo. I want to thank you so much for keeping me on budget and talent on helping me pick the right and PERFECT wedding dress!

It was so "BEAUTIFUL" and having to give birth so close to my wedding day, it showed off curves I wanted shown and hid "other" curves I wanted to conceal. Although on my wedding day my dress did not lace up as it was it supposed to due to a malfunction it still worked out and got compliments. James and I got married on October 9th of last year. We were driving by your shop last week while we were visiting for my niece's first birthday, and it reminded me to email you photos.

Hope you enjoy the pictures! As you can see, it was a great day for us. Everybody complimented the gown, and we had several Japanese tourists take a picture of us (so I suppose some of these are in people's vacation albums).

The dress was finally dry cleaned and preserved last month.

I would like to start off by saying thank you... for everything. When I first walked into your boutique, I really had no idea as to what I was looking for or where to begin. All I had was a mental image of my childhood "dream dress" and a few magazine clippings. You and your wonderful staff helped me realize just what I was looking for, and together we found the dress that I would walk down the aisle with.

Thank you so much for your warmth, friendliness, and most importantly your sincerity. I think that those characteristics are the hardest to come by these days, especially in the wedding industry, and you and your team made me feel like more than just another customer. They were very patient, as I had no idea where to even start. I tried on dress, after dress, after dress! Once I finally settle on the dress, they were very helpful with making sure it fit properly, it arrived in time, and it was altered perfectly. They also helped my pick out the perfect veil to match the dress. They made a very stressful time less stressful.

"Princess Brides was the first stop on my list of bridal boutiques to stop at... and turned out to be my only stop! The very first dress I tried on was the dress I ultimately ended up wearing on our BIG DAY. Irene knows wedding dresses, cuts, styles, colors, drapes, etc like the back of her hand - I told her what I envisioned, and in a few seconds she had an assortment ready for me. Princess Brides has a wide selection of the hottest brands and modern stylesin bridal gowns. After shopping at several bridal shops I found the perfect dress for my beach wedding which was also in my price range at Princess Brides. Roy and Irene helped me decide on a Maggie Sottero dress that really complimented my figure. My dress accented my curves (not to mention that itmade my stomach look and feel flat)while at the same time making melook and feelelegant.I really had my mind set on this one veil which I had envisioned myself in, but in the end I was glad that I went with their suggestion of a Swarovski crystal veil which actually did match my dress better. They were very truthful in their comments about the selections I had narrowed down my search fromand I really appreciated their straight forwardness. My husband was genuinely appreciative about the look I decided on.
